Busy agenda.. How many weeks was I offline ?

I have been offline for a couple of months, but I decided to keep my log as a way to keep telling to the world that I am here... I had a busy agenda starting in May/June, I was working for a great bank back in Venezuela but I decided to leave that job in order to look for more experience for my career, they were using Lotus Domino 7.0.1 on System i with Sametime 7, Domino Web Access for everybody, a really nice Domino based Portal solution , many many Domino Web Applications - all those solutions were implemente by me and the great team I had back then (Yorley, Juan, Anger, Sindy, Laura, Huss, Miguel ) - It was hard to leave those friends, but sometimes we need to move on.

One other important reason to leave my country was that in Venezuela, any company owned by the government must use "Software Libre" solutions, which is great if you think in Linux, but not so great when you think that everything must be migrated (email, databases, security, applications, directory servers, etc....), this bank, after 3 years using Domino, started to think in moving from Domino to - they still do not know -

I also went to Rochester, MN on July to write the Domino 7 redbook for System i and when I returned on August to Venezuela I got married (Catholic wedding - Sept 2nd) with Mariu, some days later I went to Caracas for the interview with the US Embassy (Sept 8th) in order to get my H1B visa, the next day I went to my Honeymoon in Margarita island for 1 week.

I returned home and some days later I moved (Sept 25th) to the US, to be exact, to the city of Austin, TX. I started my new job on Oct 2nd and since then, I have been doing Domino consulting and getting more and more involved with Websphere Portal..
