It looks like I can get up to 10 MB with AT&T and up to 16 with Comcast. I don't think we really need that much, even when I work from home. Where I live right now, the internet never goes higher than 2 MB and I am still able to RDP to servers, VPN, etc....
I am evaluating both "up to 6 MB" offers from each company. If you have any comment feel free to post a comment here or sent me an email to

Comcast just put a 250 Gb monthly cap on downloads: see here
Service-wise, I hear a lot of complaints but that hasn't been my experience. In almost 10 years of HSI with them, I've never had a problem but I live in South Jersey in the same system as many of their VPs (Comcast is HQ-ed in Philadelphia).
Brill had an article about Comcast allegedly blocking Notes traffic a few weeks ago. Again, even though they are an Exchange shop and MS invested in them a while ago, I've never had a problem with it either.
So, that's what I know and can publicly divulge... :o)
I used to have SBC for many years. They were great. I paid maybe $14/month for DSL and every quarter they found a way to lower my price even more. When AT&T took over, they jacked up my price, wouldn't offer me any deals and acted like I needed them more than they needed me.
I switched to Comcast and love it. Never had any problems with them. Great up/down speeds. My connection from home is better than from the office.
